Overview

About Sugarloaf Key

Sugarloaf Key, about twenty minutes from Key West, is a quiet residential island of canal neighborhoods with easy access to the backcountry flats of the Gulf side.

Lower Sugarloaf is home to the Perky Bat Tower, a 1929 curiosity built in an unsuccessful attempt to control mosquitoes with bats.

Typical property: Mostly single-family canal homes, including elevated homes, with some open-water lots.
